Celebrating God’s Faithfulness Through Every Season
As we celebrate Revive Killeen’s 4th birthday, it’s a perfect time to reflect on God’s faithfulness and the journey He’s taken us on as individuals and as a church. This milestone isn’t just about looking back—it’s about recognizing how God continues to work through us and in us, shaping our future with purpose and hope.
This year, we celebrated not just another anniversary, but the lives changed, the communities impacted, and the faith strengthened. It’s a reminder that our journey, though still unfolding, has been filled with God’s remarkable presence and power.
Confidence in His Good Work
The Apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians 1:6 to be confident that the good work God began in us will be carried to completion. What an incredible promise! When we believe this in our hearts, our response can only be to worship with everything we are.
God’s plan for our lives was set before we even existed. Jeremiah 1:5 assures us, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.” He created us for purpose, equipped us from the start, and predestined us for His glory.
This year, as we reflected on how far we’ve come, we were reminded that Revive Killeen’s story is not our own. God is the one who set us apart for such a time as this. From the very beginning, He has been with us, faithfully guiding us through every season.
Choosing Gratitude in Every Season
Life isn’t always easy. Trials, hardships, and uncertainties often cloud our view of God’s promises. But even in those seasons, we’re reminded of Jeremiah 29:11: God’s plans are to prosper us and not to harm us, to give us hope and a future.
Gratitude in challenging circumstances isn’t about pretending everything is okay—it’s about aligning our hearts with God’s faithfulness. As Psalm 136:1 declares, “His love endures forever.” This truth sustains us even when we struggle to see past our current difficulties.
Personally, this year brought challenges that could have easily delayed our family’s plans, especially with the holidays approaching. But as I read Ephesians 5:20, I was reminded to “always give thanks to God the Father for everything…” Even in the hardest moments, I chose to worship because I knew there was always a reason to thank God. His love endures forever, and His promises are unshakeable.
Faith in the “Suddenly” Moments
Throughout Scripture, we see God show up suddenly in the lives of His people:
- Angels appeared suddenly to announce Jesus’ birth.
- A rushing wind filled the room on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:2).
- Chains fell off prisoners suddenly in the middle of the night (Acts 16:26).
These “suddenly” moments remind us that God’s timing is perfect, and His power is limitless. Whether we’re in a long winter season or facing a short, intense storm, we can trust that God is the God of the “suddenly.”
In these moments, we’ve learned to expect the unexpected. In our own journey as a church, we’ve seen God show up “suddenly,” whether through financial provision, healing, or personal breakthroughs. These moments have been a reminder that God is always at work, even when we can’t see it.
Worship is a Choice
David exemplified this choice in Psalm 59:16-17: “But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.” Even while fleeing from Saul and enduring isolation, David chose worship.
We, too, face this choice daily. Will we let our circumstances dictate our faith, or will we choose to trust God and worship Him no matter what? Our church has witnessed incredible growth because, despite challenges, we continue to choose worship. We believe worship is a powerful weapon, and when we choose to worship, it changes the atmosphere.
This year, one song that really resonated with me was "I Choose to Worship" by Rend Collective. The lyrics say, “When the enemy says I’m done, I lift my praises. When my world comes crashing down, I lift my praises high.” This is the heart of worship—choosing to lift our praises, even in the hardest moments.
Adjusting to Seasons and Expecting Joy
Life brings seasons of hardship, but seasons change. Winter turns to spring, and joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). God’s plans for us aren’t just to survive but to thrive. He takes us from “Why me?” to “What’s next?” when we trust in His process and timing.
Revive Killeen’s journey has mirrored this truth. There have been seasons of waiting, of hardship, and of uncertainty, but we’ve seen the “suddenly” moments of breakthrough. Spring always follows winter, and we are stepping into a new season of growth and impact.
Prepared Blessings for Prepared People
Our faith, refined by trials, is more precious than gold (1 Peter 1:6-7). God is constantly preparing us for greater things, but we must remain steadfast, trusting that He’s working all things for our good.
Revive Killeen, you’ve sown seeds of faith, served faithfully, and prayed earnestly—and God is about to bring a harvest. We’ve seen the seeds we’ve planted begin to sprout, and the best is yet to come. Ephesians 3:20 reminds us that God will do “infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination.”
Together, We Are Grateful
As we reflect on these past four years, we are overwhelmed with gratitude. Together, we have seen God move in miraculous ways, and we know the best is still ahead. Let’s continue to trust Him, align our hearts with His will, and worship in every season.
Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. Together, we are grateful for all He has done and all He is going to do. Let’s keep going, knowing that God is faithful and His plans are always for our good.
Revive had received me with open arms, I’m really grateful and blessed since day one. Now since I came back to retire from the Army I know Revive is where God sent me to worship him and to serve.
